Ignatius Piazza Keeps The Politics Out of Firepower
Front Sight Firearms Training Institute is the brainchild of Dr. Ignatius Piazza, a former California chiropractor. The dream that Dr. Piazza has for Front Sight is a revolutionary one. Featured in Las Vegas Mercury, along with dozens of other magazines and newspapers from all over the world, Front Sight is going to be the world's first gun town. Already the leader in gun training, Front sight delivers firearms training to more students annually than all other gun training schools in America combined. That includes not only handgun training, but also shotgun training, rifle training and even submachine gun training. Dr. Piazza plans for Front Sight to be a town where the owners of the land get their land by buying a membership to Front Sight, thus ensuring they all receive responsible gun training, and keeping rednecks and neo-NAZIs out.
As the writer in the Las Vegas Mercury pointed out, while gun ownership was once perceived as the province of bulging-chested jarheads and flannel-clad rednecks, it seems to be getting a makeover. Self-armament is all the rage among people you wouldn't necessarily expect to be packing. A student at the same free submachine gun class the Mercury writer attended, Randall Shelden, a UNLV criminal justice professor, had this to say about the subject of gun ownership: "It's not hard to imagine that we'll see more and more people accepting the carrying of weapons. It's already pretty unanimous among the airline pilots union that they should be able to carry firearms on planes, which may open up a whole new can of worms. It's a simplistic solution to a complex problem." It's obvious that more and more, ordinary folk are realizing the need for firearms training. Dr. Ignatius Piazza is at the forefront of this mission: make it acceptable and normal to have law-abiding citizens be armed and trained. Why is it strange?
